High-build epoxy base with a Skydrol-resistant urethane topcoat
Aviation hangar flooring is a multi-coat resinous system built for aircraft storage and maintenance environments, where Skydrol hydraulic fluid can quickly destroy standard epoxy. Cape Cod Coatings installs ProREZ hangar floor systems across Massachusetts for FBOs, MRO shops, corporate hangars, and municipal airports, using high-solids epoxy bases with Skydrol-resistant urethane or aliphatic polyaspartic topcoats for adhesion, impact resistance, chemical protection, UV stability, and abrasion resistance. Finishes range from showroom-gloss white to high-traction satin, and all work is backed by a 15-year written guarantee.

Skydrol (and equivalent phosphate-ester hydraulic fluids like HyJet) is one of the most aggressive chemicals in everyday industrial use. It softens and dissolves standard epoxy and many polyurethanes within hours of contact. Add Jet-A spills, AvGas, hydraulic oil, brake fluid, de-icing chemicals, and the mechanical abuse of tow tugs, jack stands, and dropped tools — and a typical “industrial epoxy” floor fails fast. Hangar floors require a purpose-built urethane or aliphatic polyaspartic topcoat with documented Skydrol resistance over a properly bonded epoxy base. That is the system Cape Cod Coatings installs.

Hangar Zones We Coat

We serve hangars and FBOs across Southeastern Massachusetts as part of our commercial floor coating services. Airports in our commercial service area include Barnstable Municipal (HYA), Plymouth Municipal (PYM), New Bedford Regional (EWB), Marshfield (GHG),
Falmouth Airpark (5B6), Provincetown (PVC), and Martha’s Vineyard (MVY).
Anywhere within ~1.5 hours of Hyannis.
The Skydrol problem. Phosphate-ester hydraulic fluid destroys standard epoxy and many polyurethanes. Hangar floors require a documented Skydrol-resistant topcoat over a high-build epoxy base, not a generic shop-floor product.
Yes. The ProREZ aviation topcoat is documented for resistance to Jet-A, AvGas, Skydrol, MIL-PRF-83282 hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, and common deicing chemistries.
Yes. We routinely phase installs around aircraft movements, with overnight and weekend windows. We
protect fuel lines, door tracks, and adjacent bays during prep
Gloss finishes look beautiful but can be slick when wet. We engineer anti-slip aggregate into maintenance bays, wash bays, and entry zones, and keep the gloss in the spotless display areas where it belongs.
Yes. The aliphatic urethane/polyaspartic topcoat is UV-stable and non-yellowing.
OSHA-compliant tow lanes, fire lanes, aircraft-positioning marks, FOD-walk lines, and custom brand
striping for FBOs.
The high-build epoxy base provides the impact strength; the urethane topcoat provides the abrasion and chemical layer. Together they’re rated for daily tug and jack-stand cycles.
Providing concrete coating services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers across the Cape Cod area. From Falmouth to Chatham and all places in between.
